During weeks 5 & 6, I was mainly focused on finishing up the train textures, and texturing some of the other elements of the station, like the train cars and platforms. I was also responsible for prepping and sending the main level in our Unreal project to the LED wall for each pre load test.
Train Textures
In these 2 weeks I went through a few different iterations of the train, each with drastic changes based on feedback from others in class as well as Production Design.
Added construction details and adjusted moss. Changed paint color to red to contrast the bare steel
Updated model from Carlos, completely removed moss to not be locked into a moss level. refined construction details, fixed bump issues
Paint color changed to blue as per Production Design's request, slightly adjusted paint scheme, as well as the paint damage and rust scale.
Train Car Textures
The train car also went through several iterations, as I was trying to keep it updated with the look of the train front.
Platform Textures
I created several smart materials for Adobe Substance Painter based on the material references that Production Design sent us
I then used these smart materials to replicate Production Design's platform design, using their measurements and material callouts.
Unreal
After creating the textures, I then brought them into unreal using instances of Danci's master material so that they could be easily adjustable while on the LED wall.
